The Majority Of The Demonstrators Were Arrested By Children, The Police Asked Parents To Increase Supervision

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya asked the Education Office and parents to better supervise children. Because based on data from thousands of people who were arrested during the demonstration against the Job Creation Law, 64 percent were minors.

"We have secured 64 percent of students from various regions, some from Tangerang, Subang, Karawang and Indramayu. This is quite massive," said the Head of Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Nana Sudjana to reporters, Monday, September 12.

Supervision of children is very important. The reason was that from the investigation they were determined to come to Jakarta because they were provoked by calls on social media.

"We appeal to parents and teachers and the Education Office to carry out supervision. Do not let them be provoked and invited to follow this to carry out anarchism and vandalism," said Nana.

Nana also appealed to the public not to simply believe and spread information that is not necessarily true. This is because hoaxes with a provocative element have started to circulate recently.

"I hope the public will screen before sharing. Don't because this problem could be a suspect in relation to the spread of hoax news," he said.

For your information, Polda Metro Jaya had secured 1,192 people involved in the rioting in a demonstration against the Job Creation Law.

Of the thousands of people, 54 were named as suspects. However, only 28 were detained. The reason is that only a handful of people are detained because the sentences in the alleged articles are over five years.
