Sunday, May 8, 40,900 Users Of Long-distance Rail Mass Transportation Arrived In Jakarta

JAKARTA - The mass train mode of transportation (KA) is still in great demand by the public, especially for Eid travelers. Almost every year, most of the people in Jakarta and other cities use land transportation services to travel to a number of cities on the island of Java.

Meanwhile, during the 2022 Eid holiday, hundreds of thousands of people use long-distance rail mass transportation (KAJJ) for the period from April 22 to May 8 to go home for Eid 1443 H.

Of that number, hundreds of people who had gone home for Eid began to return to Jakarta on Sunday, May 8.

Public Relations Daop 1 Jakarta noted, the number of passenger arrivals from other areas to Daop 1 Jakarta has started to increase. In total for Sunday, May 8, there will be around 40,900 passengers who will disembark in the Daop 1 area of Jakarta.

"Of this number, 14,900 passengers arrived (descended) at Gambir Station and 15,200 passengers at Pasar Senen Station," said Head of Public Relations Daop 1 Jakarta, Eva Chairunisa when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, May 8, afternoon.

Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station are the main destinations with the highest number of passengers arriving in Jakarta.

"At Bekasi Station there were 4,200 passengers who got off, Jatinegara Station had 3,800 passengers. Meanwhile, the other 2,800 passengers were the number of passengers arriving at Cikampek Station and Jakartakota," Eva said.

Daop 1 Jakarta ensures, continued Eva, that all passengers who disembark have met the travel requirements because they have been checked at the initial departure station.

"Passengers who come are advised not to rush when getting off the train. Make sure all the luggage in the seating area and luggage area is not left behind," he said.

Previously reported, the Directorate of Traffic (Dirlantas) of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo also confirmed that the peak of the return of homecoming vehicles to Jakarta would occur on Sunday, May 8.

This was stated according to estimates from the Ministry of Transportation and data held by the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya.

"We estimate that the peak of the backflow will be on Sunday, May 8," said Kombes Sambodo to reporters, Thursday, May 5.

At the peak of the return of travelers, Kombes Sambodo said the highest number of vehicles entering Jakarta would reach 269,444 vehicles.
