A Total Of 532 Inmates Of Cianjur Prison Get Special Remission

CIANJUR - Hundreds of residents assisted by the Class IIB Correctional Institution (Lapas) in Cianjur, West Java, received remissions or reduced detention periods specifically for Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah, two of whom immediately breathed free air.

Head of Class IIB Cianjur Prison Heri Aris Susila in Cianjur, Saturday, said the granting of remission was carried out based on the Decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number: PAS-609 PK.05.04 of 2022 concerning the Granting of Special Remissions (RK) for Eid Al-Fitr in 2022.

"The number of proposals for special Eid remission for the inmates of Cianjur Prison is 543 people, while in the special remission decree it is 532 people, 11 people do not get the decree because they carry out house assimilation," he said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, May 7.

His party detailed that the remissions given to hundreds of inmates varied from 107 people with a 15-day sentence reduction, 336 people 1 month remission, 75 people 1.5 months remission, and 12 people 2 months remission. the obligations of the inmates with the aim of accelerating the reintegration program within the community so that when they return to the community they have behaved well and do not repeat mistakes.

"While in prison, those who are Muslim are required to participate in religious activities like being in a boarding school as santri. These activities are to forge them so that later they can return to normal lives when they are free," he said.

When handing over the decree to the recipient of the remission, his party conveyed a message from the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, so that they never return to prison as inmates. They are asked to behave well and avoid trouble after leading a free life.
