One-way Toll Road Extended To Semarang City Inner Toll

SEMARANG - In order to smooth traffic flow, the police decided to extend the implementation of the one-way system from the Semarang inner city toll road to the Kalikangkung toll gate.

Vehicles are being directed into two lanes from the Jatingaleh direction to the Krapyak interchange to the Kalikangkung gate.

Director of Traffic for the Central Java Police, Kombes Agus Suryonugroho, said the implementation of the local one-way system on the Semarang inner-city toll road was aimed at reducing the density of the number of vehicles on this reverse flow.

"To dilute the current that leads to Kalikangkung, we pull it," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, May 6.

According to him, the peak of the backflow through the Trans Java toll road is expected to occur today. "It's normal if there is a density, especially around the 'rest area'," he added.

During the implementation of the homecoming and return of Lebaran, he said, there were a number of accidents on toll roads. "However, there were no fatal accidents, not resulting in fatalities," he said.

Previously, three ministers officially opened the implementation of the one-way system from the Kalikangkung Semarang toll gate towards Jakarta at around 13:57 WIB.

The opening of the one-way lane was marked by the raising of the flag by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of PUPR, Basuki Hadimuljono, and Minister of Transportation, Budi K Sumadi.
