Sarilamak Backflow To Riau Jammed, Police Deploy 117 Personnel

SUMBAR - Congestion occurred on the Sarilamak route, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) to Riau Province on Friday, May 6, at 15.00 WIB.

The traffic density on the Sumatran highway that passes through the Kelok Sembilan flyover appears to be dominated by four-wheeled vehicles, but there is no total congestion.

"Congestion has started to occur since Thursday 5 May evening until this afternoon, but there is no total traffic jam," said Head of the Limapuluh Kota Police Traffic Unit AKP Dian Jumes Putra, in Sarilamak, Friday 6 May.

The police said that the traffic density on Friday was already a concentration for backflow mobility for Eid 1443 H.

Considering the route that is crowded with vehicles is the route from Sarilamak to Riau or vehicles leaving the province of West Sumatra.

"Today's concentration is on the backflow of Lebaran, because the congested route is to Riau. Meanwhile, the flow from Riau to West Sumatra is quiet," he said, as reported by Antara.

According to the police, traffic density occurs due to an increase in the number of vehicles, besides that it is influenced by vehicles coming in and out at a number of intersections, restaurants, or shops.

To ensure that there is no total congestion in the local area, the police dispatched 117 personnel to manage traffic.

"Personnel are stationed to regulate traffic flow at intersections and tourist attraction exits, as well as ensure that no vehicles cross the right lane against the flow," he said.

He explained that for the security of Lebaran 1443 H, there were four posts that were established, with details of two service posts (Posyan) and two Security Posts (Pospam) consisting of joint officers.

The police predict that the backflow from Sarilamak or the West Sumatra-Riau road will occur until Friday, May 6 evening.
