Tourists Visiting Kelimutu National Park Reaches 4,545 Ossang

KUPANG - The Kelimutu National Park Office noted that 4,545 tourists visited the lake tourist area, three residents located in Ende district, East Nusa Tenggara.

"The number is calculated from May 2 to 3," said Head of the Kelimutu National Park Center Hendrikus Rani Siga SL, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 4.

He said the number of tourist visits was dominated by domestic tourists, while foreign or foreign tourists recorded only 11 of the 4,545 tourists mentioned.

Hendrikus also assessed that the number of tourist visits had increased significantly during the Eid holiday in 2022.

"We are also quite overwhelmed with regulating the entry and exit of tourists who come because this year it is reopened after it was not opened in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic," he added.

According to Hendrikus, actually to overcome the booming tourists, his party has prepared a way of ordering tickets online.

But what actually happened in the field since May 2-3, tourists actually went directly to the Kelimutu TN area to order tickets.

Because of that, he said, to overcome the accumulation of tourists in the area, his party used a system of opening and closing the tourist area.

"So we have prepared a system of opening and closing. Because there are actually a lot of tourists coming," he added.

His party also always appeals to tourists to continue to comply with health protocols while traveling in the Kelimutu National Park area.

He also predicts that the tourist area of Kelimutu National Park will continue to be visited by tourists during the Eid holiday.
