Bogor Peak Route Congested, Police Implement Oneway And Suggest Via Alternative Route

JAKARTA - Bogor Resort Police, West Java, enforced a one-way traffic engineering system to Jakarta, after a long traffic jam occurred at Simpang Gadog, Ciawi, towards Puncak.

"We played the one-way pattern up this morning from seven to 10, and now from 11 a.m., because the TMC has been closely monitoring from Cianjur to Jakarta, we are one way down," said Head of the Bogor Police Traffic Unit AKP Dicky Anggi Pranata in Bogor quoted by Antara, Tuesday 3 May.

He admitted that he had predicted the density of vehicles on the Peak Line on the second day of Eid, because the route is often a tourist destination for the public during the Eid holiday season.

"Therefore, we have alerted 170 personnel, including four security posts that have been alerted," said Dicky.

Bogor Police recorded a significant increase in vehicle volume on Tuesday (3/5). There are at least 21,000 vehicles entering the Puncak area from morning to noon. In fact, under normal conditions only about 15 thousand vehicles enter the Puncak area. He appealed to motorists to obey the officers on guard in the field, so as to minimize vehicle density in the field.

"We urge the public to follow the directions of our officers in the field so that there is no long overcrowding, and if body conditions do not allow, rest at Pospam," he hoped.

According to him, there are five alternative routes to Puncak that can be passed by tourists. First, the South Sentul-Babakan Madang-Pasir Angin Toll Road with a route from Jakarta to Puncak, exiting at Simpang Pasir Angin. The line has a length of about 20 kilometers and a road width of six meters.

Second, Cileungsi-Jonggol-Cariu with the route Jakarta-Cianjur-Bandung. The line has a length of about 55 kilometers, with a road width of about eight meters. Third, Cilember-Jogjogan-Ciburial. This route is an alternative to going home and visiting Puncak with a road length of about eight kilometers and a width of about five meters.

Fourth, Jatiwangi-Bendungan-Ciawi, which is an alternative route behind the Puncak route with a length of about 13 kilometers and a width of six meters.

Fifth, Cigombong/Caringin-Cipaku Bogor City, with a route from Sukabumi to Cipaku Bogor City. This line has a length of about 14.7 kilometers and a road width of about eight meters.
