Jasa Marga Records Highest Homecoming Traffic Record, 1.7 Vehicles Leave Jabodetabek

JAKARTA – In this year's homecoming season, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk again recorded the highest traffic record for the 2022 Eid homecoming flow. There were 1.7 million vehicles that had left Jabodetabek for three directions, namely East (Trans Java and Bandung), West (Peacock), and South (Peak).

Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head, Dwimawan Heru explained, this figure was up 9.5 percent when compared to Eid 2019, or before the pandemic.

"Compared to normal traffic in the November 2021 period, which was the highest traffic during the pandemic, 1.7 million vehicles that passed during the homecoming period this year increased by 18.6 percent," Heru said in a written statement received by Antara in Jakarta, Tuesday. , May 3rd.

In terms of traffic distribution, the favorite destination for travelers is still heading east via the Trans Java Toll Road which holds 53.8 percent of the total travelers. Meanwhile, 27.6 percent went towards Merak and 18.7 percent headed towards Puncak.

Seeing the high traffic going home, Heru appealed to people who are currently in their hometowns to arrange a time for their return trip to Jabodetabek.

“The return period itself has a fairly short number of days when compared to the homecoming flow. If everyone plans to go home at the end of a long holiday, such as May 6, 7 and 8, 2022, this simultaneous increase in traffic must be anticipated by road users," said Heru.
