Visiting Teuku Umar, Prabowo Met By Megawati With Puan Maharani And Prananda Prabowo

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani said PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri was accompanied by her two children, namely Prananda Prabowo and Puan Maharani when receiving Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto.

Prananda Anak Megawati is now the Chair of the PDIP DPP, while Puan Maharani is the Chair of the DPR RI as well as the Chair of the PDIP DPP.

"Thank God I was able to stay in touch with Megawati. One table with her family with Mas Nanan (Prananda) with Mrs. Puan (Puan Maharani, ed)," Muzani told reporters at Megawati Soekarnoputri's residence, Jalan Teuku Umar, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, 2 May.

Apart from meeting Prananda and Puan, Muzani said there were several other figures present. Among them is the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Budi Gunawan.

During the meeting, Muzani said that there were no serious discussions, including the 2024 General Election (Pemilu), especially the presidential election.

He said the meeting between the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party and Megawati only discussed food and historical stories. In addition, the meeting between Prabowo and Megawati which Puan participated in was not an approach to nominate the two in the 2024 presidential election.

The meeting of these two political figures, continued Muzani, was solely to stay in touch.

"I don't want to predict too much because it's Eid day and that was really the atmosphere, the Eid atmosphere was very fluid, very good and the atmosphere was very family-friendly," he said.

"There was no discussion (the 2024 presidential election at the Prabowo and Megawati meeting, ed). Let alone 2024, 2023 was not discussed," added Muzani.

Muzani ensured that the relationship between the Gerindra Party and PDIP had long been well established. The two figures, he continued, have a close relationship.

"The two figures also have a pretty good personal and family relationship. So today's meeting, yes, on this Eid day connects something that has already been connected," he concluded.
