JAKARTA - KSAD General TNI Dudung Abdurachman appreciates the success of the TNI-Polri Joint Team in arresting WT, the perpetrator of the sadistic murder of TNI soldiers Babinsa Koramil 1702-/Kurulu Alm Sertu Eka Andrianto Hasugian and the soldier's wife.

"Appreciation from the Army Chief of Staff for the quick action and hard work of the joint team that succeeded in catching the perpetrators of the murder," said Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General Tatang Subarna in a written statement quoted by Antara, Saturday, April 30.

Sertu Eka Andrianto Hasugian and his wife became victims of murder on March 31, 2022 ago on Jalan Trans Elelim, Elelim Village, Yalimo Regency.

Brigadier General Tatang Subarna said the WT, who was a member of the National Police for other crimes and was also a member of the terrorist separatist group (KST) in Papua, was arrested in Dugume Village, Dugume District, Lanny Jaya Regency on Saturday, April 30.

"When he was about to be arrested in Dugume Village, WT suddenly fled towards a ravine, so the Joint Team gave warning shots, because they were not heeded, they were shot to be incapacitated," said Kadispenad.

The Kadispenad explained that the success was a follow-up to the order of the Chief of Army Staff (KSAD) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman on Thursday, March 31 to the XVII/Cenderawasih Regional Military Commander.

The Army Chief of Staff ordered to pursue the perpetrators of the murder and proceed with the legal process.

"The TNI AD together with the National Police will not hesitate to take decisive and measured actions against terrorist separatist groups who have been carrying out security disturbances and carrying out murders against government officials, TNI, Polri and civil society," he said.

Kadispenad also said that the presence of the TNI in Papua is one of the government's efforts to accelerate development and welfare for the Papuan people so that they are on a par with other regions. Therefore, he also invites all elements of the nation in Papua to jointly make it happen.
