Viral Protest One Way Blocking Cipularang Toll Road To Bandung, Police: If Not Done Jakarta, Banten, Cikampek Congested

JAKARTA - Viral on social media is the public protest against the one-way scheme by blocking access to the Cipularang toll road, specifically the direction from Jakarta to Bandung.

The Head of the Traffic Police Corps (Kakor) Inspector General Firman Santyabudi said all problems had been resolved. This is because the toll roads have been opened and the public can pass on the toll roads.

"It's already running (toll access, ed)," said Firman to reporters, Friday, April 29.

The road blocking action was the result of the one-way implementation from KM 47 to the Kalikangkung Toll Gate (GT) KM 414.

Firman also mentioned the implementation of the one-way scheme for the benefit of travelers whose numbers reach tens of millions. So, people who are affected by the policy are asked to be patient.

"We don't want to hurt anyone. But if we don't regulate it, they will be even more angry, stuck and unregulated, now patience and this change is the key," he said. Cipularang toll road that will be affected. This is because all connected toll roads will be overcrowded with vehicles or congested.

"If we don't do it, the accumulation from Jakarta, Banten, and to Cikampek will actually spiral into one," said Firman.

For information, the blocking action was first uploaded to the Twitter account @demiramaramara. The account states that vehicles in the Cipularang area did not move towards Jakarta, on Friday, April 29, morning.

"Cipularang has been stuck since 1 am and has not moved towards Jakarta, finally residents protested until they closed the road to Bandung," he wrote.
