70 Youths Arrested By Bogor Police Seize Convoy While Making A Trouble

BOGOR - Bogor City Police arrested 70 youths for carrying out a motorcycle convoy carrying a flag that reads XTC while making a commotion in Gang Aut, Jalan Suryakencana, Gudang Village, Central Bogor District, Thursday, April 28 evening.

"Obviously the activities of this group are disturbing the people who are currently enjoying iftar, so we carry out security," said the Bogor City Police Chief, Kombes Pol. Susatyo Purnomo Condro in Bogor City, Friday, April 29.

Susatyo said that the Bogor City Police Patrol Team received information that the XTC youth group would conduct a convoy by appearing from several points to gather on Thursday night, so the officers immediately spread out from the afternoon.

Those who emerged from Gang Aut, Jalan Suryakencana, had clashes with local residents and online motorcycle taxi drivers. Then, the patrol team inspected the location of the clashes or commotions between the XTC group and the residents to chase the young men on motorbikes.

Susatyo immediately ordered his members to carry out the isolation, until finally 70 youths were caught at the center of the partition, namely Tugu Kujang, Tegallega Village, Central Bogor District. Dozens of young men using 30 motorbikes and carrying six flags that read XTC.

After being arrested, they were then asked to squat around Tugu Kujang bare-chested and led into a police car. According to the perpetrators' information, they were just celebrating the anniversary of the XTC group. Susatyo added that they had to be arrested for making a fuss.

"Just celebrating a birthday, but we will do an examination, including a urine test," he added.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya, entrusted the process of examining the young men involved in the convoy to the police for a urine test. If proven disruptive and committing a criminal act, he stressed that the legal process against the youths must still be enforced.

"If something is proven, of course it's a different story. Everything is processed, we make sure there is a legal process, especially at the end of the month of Ramadan where there should be a lot of worship," said Bima Arya.
