TANGERANG - PT Garuda Indonesia Group through its Garuda Indonesia flight service and its subsidiary, Citilink, predicts the peak of the surge in passengers during Lebaran homecoming will occur on April 29, 2022.

"The peak is expected tomorrow, but we have a slight limitation in terms of the number of planes, and passengers who want to take Garuda or Citilink, so it starts (the surge in passengers, ed) as of the 28th," said President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra in Tangerang, Between, Thursday, April 28.

According to him, until D-4 Lebaran, there were 95,492 passenger movements on both Garuda Indonesia and Citilink airlines.

"Garuda group airlines are ready to welcome the peak of the surge in passengers for going back and forth for Eid in 2022," he said.

With the surge in the number of passengers on Garuda Indonesia and Citilink airlines, it is expected to increase again in the evening until Friday 29 April 2022.

However, this increase is still smaller than the spike on April 25, 2022, which broke the 100 thousand passengers mark.

"So today and tomorrow the total for the Garuda Group is 95,492 people and there must be an addition at the last moment. The peak of the backflow is on May 7 or May 8," he said.

Total flights today in the Garuda Indonesia Group, there are around 333 aircraft movements and for Garuda Indonesia there are 47,132 passengers.

Meanwhile, the majority of passengers were on Citilink airlines, namely 227 flights and Garuda there were around 106 flights.

"For Garuda this figure is quite good compared to the last few months during the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
