TANGERANG - The Health Office of the City of Tangerang, Banten, appealed to the public not to get booster vaccinations on the day of going home for fear of causing Post-Immunization Adverse Events (AEFI) or side effects.

“After injecting the vaccine, there is a 30 minute observation time. If it is done on the D day of departure in a hurry, it is feared that it will not be monitored optimally. So it's good, from now on the booster is far ahead," said Head of the Tangerang City Health Office, Dr. Dini Anggraeni, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 28.

He explained that the process of forming antibodies to COVID-19 takes approximately a week after vaccination. Because indeed, immunity cannot be formed quickly or instantly.

Meanwhile, Dr. Dini revealed that until now the achievement of the Tangerang City vaccination for dose one has reached 1,626,351 people or 109.9 percent, dose two is 1,302,163 people or 88.0 percent, while for the booster it's 530,462 people or 35.9 percent. .

"Tangerang City's target for boosters is still 500 thousand people. Hopefully it can be achieved until the day of Eid or after Eid later. Ahead of Lebaran, Tangerang City's daily vaccination achievement can be said to increase to 5 thousand people per day," he said.

A total of 38 health centers in Tangerang City during the Lebaran holiday will continue to open vaccination booths except Saturday-Sunday. The vaccination booth at Tangcity is no exception, which will also remain open throughout the long holiday.

"With that, people will still be able to take booster vaccinations on the Eid holiday, both at the Puskesmas and at Tangcity Mall," said Dr Dini.
