Bribery Game For WTP Status From BPK Often Happens, KPK Says

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the mode of bribery to get the Unqualified Predicate (WTP) from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) often occurs. Moreover, the anti-corruption commission has investigated a similar case.

"Such methods are currently likely to occur in other ministries/agencies and local governments," said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri in a written statement, Thursday, April 28.

In addition to snaring four auditors from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) representing West Java in a sting operation (OTT), the KPK has also handled similar cases such as bribery of the main auditor of BPK Rochmadi S. et al.

"For this reason, the KPK appeals to every ministry, institution and local government to avoid the practice of bribery in obtaining a fair opinion without exception (WTP) in the process of examining its financial management," said Ali.

Not only that, the anti-corruption commission also reminded financial examiners not to abuse their authority for personal gain. Ali said they must work according to their duties and functions.

"KPK also reminds the financial audit authority not to abuse its authority to gain personal gain through corrupt practices," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK has named eight people as suspects in the alleged bribery case related to the management of the Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) financial reports, West Java for the 2021 Fiscal Year.

As donors, namely the Bogor Regent for the 2018-2023 period Ade Yasin (AY), Secretary of the Bogor Regency Office Maulana Adam (MA), Head of the Regional Treasury for the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) Bogor Regency Ihsan Ayatullah (IA), and officials who made commitments. (PPK) at the Bogor Regency PUPR Office, Rizki Taufik (RT).

While the four suspects who received bribes, namely employees of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Representative of West Java/Head of Sub Auditorat Jabar III/technical controller Anthon Merdiansyah (ATM), employees of BPK Representative of West Java/Chairman of the Interim Audit Team of Bogor Regency Arko Mulawan (AM), employee West Java Representative BPK/investigator Hendra Nur Rahmatullah Karwita (HNRK), and West Java Representative BPK/investigator Gerri Ginajar Trie Rahmatullah (GGTR).

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that Ade Yasin's alleged bribery was so that the Bogor Regency Government would get the title Unqualified (WTP). As for the silent operation, the confiscated evidence in the form of money reached Rp. 1.024 billion.
