AMBON - The head of the regional office (Kakanwil) of the Maluku Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) proposed to the Directorate General of Corrections to give Eid al-Fitr special remissions (RK) to prisoners in Maluku.

The remission application, which was submitted since April 18, contained 448 names of inmates. "So I need to convey that the Head of Regional Office of the Moluccas Ministry of Law and Human Rights has proposed a special Eid al-Fitr remission for prisoners. This is a proposal and just waiting for the decision letter," said Head of Correctional Division Saiful Sahri in Ambon, Antara, Thursday, April 28.

For the 15-day category, the amount of remission was 86 people, for the one-month remission category as many as 283 people, the proposed remission for 1 month 15 days were seven people and the proposed remission for 2 months were eight people.

In addition, the proposed special remission I (RK I) based on Government Regulation Number 28 of 2006 and Number 99 of 2012, there are terrorism convicts, narcotics prisoners and corruption convicts who are also included in this proposal list.

"We proposed PP 28 and 99 at RK I in Ambon prison for terrorism cases. Why did terrorism happen because they had actually pledged to love the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, it was a requirement, there were 3 who declared themselves in love with the Unitary Republic of Indonesia," said Saiful.

While narcotics RK 1 according to PP 99 amounted to 48 people, 34 proposals from Ambon Lapas, two proposals from Piru Prison, Tual Prison proposed as many as one person, Masohi Rutan proposed five people, Class III prison in Banda Naira proposed four people, and Dobo prison as many as two people.

“And for the category of corruption, for PP 28, no one got it, while for PP 99 in 2012 there was one person who got RK I from class III women's prisons. Why can he get it, because he has paid all the fines and replacement money, that's a condition for them, "he said.

Saiful hopes that with the proposed remission of the direction of reducing the criminal period given by the government later, it can speed up their return to gathering with their families.

He also asked the government to pay attention to what they have given as a form of appreciation for the coaching process in which the order of their lives inside is to return to the nature of the penitentiary itself, which is to provide unity of life.

"They must realize that they will no longer commit acts that violate the law, can be accepted by the community and can be useful for religious families and community life," he said.

He also asked the community to accept the existence of this prisoner in community life again. Don't make these inmates feel ostracized later.

"It's useless for us to nurture him and he has realized himself, but when he leaves, re-enters community life, society still gives him the label that he is a prisoner. Everyone has the potential to make mistakes. It just so happened that those outside were not caught," said Saiful.
