JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, responded to a statement by the Corruption Eradication Commission which suspected that there was an error in financing Formula E using the DKI Regional Budget.

In this case, the DKI Provincial Government has disbursed a APBD of Rp. 560 billion for the payment of the commitment fee. In fact, currently the financing scheme for the implementation of Formula E is business to business (B2B) by the BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo with sponsors.

Responding to this, Riza admitted that his party respects the progress of the investigation into the alleged corruption of Formula E by the anti-corruption agency. "We respect the KPK. Please later, the KPK will carry out an examination, an investigation. That is the right of the KPK. We respect it," Riza told reporters, Thursday, April 28.

If later it is proven that an error was found in the planning for the implementation of Formula E, Riza guarantees that the DKI Provincial Government will be held accountable for it.

"In principle, we, all levels of apparatus in the regional government carry out all programs and financing as well as possible as regulated in the provisions and we will be held accountable," he said.

It is known that the KPK is still studying the contract for organizing the international Formula E car racing event. This investigation will also investigate the mechanism for paying the commitment fee. The KPK indicated that there had been an error in the financing mechanism for this Formula E activity.

Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission Alexander Marwata said that one of them relates to a regulation from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) which states that the APBD budget cannot be used to finance activities for business purposes.

"So it has to be business to business (B2B cannot be financed with the APBD budget, there is already information from the regional government, from the Ministry of Home Affairs when the DKI Provincial Government asks for input," said Alexandee.

Alexander ensured that the investigation into alleged corruption in Formula E would continue. A number of parties, including PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) will be questioned regarding some of the things he has described.

"We are still looking for information, for example regarding how Formula E is organized in other countries. Is there a kind of commitment fee and so on and we are also trying to ask for information from the party who received the transfer of funds from the DKI Provincial Government," he explained.

"Of course later we will continue to explore including information from Jakpro as the organizer," he concluded.
