Riza Patria Supported By DPP Forward To Jakarta 1, Gerindra DKI: It's Not Strange, He Knows The Map

JAKARTA - Secretary of DPD Gerindra DKI Rani Mauliani responded to DPP Gerindra DKI's support for Ahmad Riza Patria to run as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta in the upcoming 2024 Pilkada.

As is known, Riza, who is the Chair of the DKI Gerindra DPD, currently serves as Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta until October 2022.

Rina views, this support is a natural thing. Because, Riza has experience leading Jakarta from 2020.

"For example, if Pak Riza comes forward, it's actually not a strange thing. Because he already works as Deputy Governor. If he becomes Deputy Governor, at least he already knows what the map of DKI is like," Rani said to reporters, Thursday, April 28.

However, Rani admits that her party has not decided in a final way whether Riza will be promoted as cagub DKI. Because, before determining who will be carried in the Pilkada, his party will hear various inputs, starting from the branch level, DPC, to the scholars will be taken into consideration.

What is clear, continued Rani, is that Gerindra will carry out its cadres as much as possible in the political contestation in Jakarta.

"We from Gerindra are trying to bring in our own cadres. But we may have many qualified Gerindra cadres for DKI Jakarta. Because anyone who has the ability in Gerindra has the right to lead, to fill positions," he said.

Previously, Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani viewed DKI Jakarta as the mascot of the Gerindra Party at the national level. Therefore, the party bearing the garuda symbol is required to win again in DKI Jakarta.

In addition, Muzani also asked Gerindra DKI cadres to start voicing the chairman of the DPD Gerindra DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria as a candidate for governor in the 2024 DKI Pilkada.

"We have to prepare the best cadres to be promoted as gubernatorial candidates in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Pilkada. And I think that figure belongs to the Deputy Governor, A Riza Patria. We have to win the 2024 DKI Pilgub," said Muzani.
