There Are No Bus Accident Victims On The Cikarang-Cikampek Toll Road

JAKARTA - Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo confirmed that there were no injuries or fatalities in the accident of a number of bus vehicles at KM28 Jakarta Cikampek Toll Road, West Cikarang, Bekasi Regency.

"It only resulted in material losses. There were no victims," said Sambodo Purnomo, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 28 in the morning.

The bus was carrying a number of passengers going home with the aim of Cikampek. However, while crossing West Cikarang, an accident occurred which resulted in three buses and one minibus colliding with each other.

The incident was reported to have occurred at around 23:00 WIB, Wednesday, April 27, causing traffic jams from up to the Cikarang Utama Toll Gate. Congestion due to the high volume of vehicles also engulfs travelers from KM40 to East Karawang.

Sambodo said the accident, which was caused by the negligence of one of the drivers, had been resolved amicably with the mediation of the police.

"It was resolved amicably so that the bus could continue its journey," he said.

Meanwhile, from posting photos on the Twitter account @TMCPoldaMetroJaya, it appears that one of the buses involved in the accident belongs to the Sumber Jaya Autobus Company (PO) with police number Z 7531 TB with the Kawali-Depok route.

Sambodo said that efforts to smooth traffic flow around West Cikarang to East Karawang were carried out by engineering traffic on the MBZ Elevated Toll Road by dividing the volume of vehicles passing on the lower and upper lanes.

"Currently, Polri officers are still carrying out traffic engineering ahead of the Cikampek Elevated Toll Road (MBZ), to reduce the density on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road section," he said.
