JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has released the departure of homecoming and returning participants for free Eid transportation in 2022, at the Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal, East Jakarta.

To the free homecoming participants, Anies gave a message not to spend time traveling by playing on their respective cellphones

"Ladies and gentlemen, don't all of them have cellphones? Ladies and gentlemen, these cellphones are used for communication. Once the journey begins, the cellphones are stored properly, don't use them along the way," said Anies at the location, Wednesday, April 27.

Anies has reasons for this request. He said it was better for the homecoming participants to take the opportunity to travel to their hometown to tell their children about their life journey and the sights along the way.

"Tell us the journey of life, ladies and gentlemen, why did you arrive in Jakarta, how the story started when you left the village first. Show the points along the journey that describe the beauty of Indonesia. Show this country a beautiful country, so that our children along the way have experiences," explained Anies.

Anies explained that for the past two years, homecoming activities were not carried out because the condition of the COVID-19 case was still worrying. After these conditions are under control, finally in 2022, homecoming and return activities can be held for free.

All the fleets used for the free homecoming event have been carried out a ramp check to ensure the condition of the vehicles is roadworthy, as well as the drivers who have had a health check.

"Furthermore, every fleet that departs there is a companion officer (LO). They will accompany you to the final destination, as well as later when going back and forth to Jakarta. The LO officer is an extension of the DKI Provincial Government to ensure a smooth and safe journey to the destination," explained Anies.

For information, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is holding a free homecoming program this year. The DKI Provincial Government has prepared a quota of 19,680 free homecoming participants, with details of 11,480 going home and 8,000 going back.

The DKI Provincial Government provides 17 destination locations spread to Central Java, East Java, Lampung and Palembang with the departure of passenger buses from the Pulogebang terminal and the departure of motorbike trucks from the Pulogadung Terminal.
