Need To Know! Polda Metro Temporarily Stops Gage At Tourist Places

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya and the DKI Transportation Service (Dishub) have decided to temporarily abolish the odd-even policy of 13 points in Jakarta during the 2022 Eid holiday. This includes 6 tourist areas.

"First, for tourist attractions, there are 6 tourist spots that we guard, starting from Ancol, TMII, Ragunan, Monas, Kota Tua, PIK 2 and other places. During the holidays we will decide that there are no gages in tourist attractions," said the Director of Traffic. Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Police Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo told reporters at KM 57 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, Tuesday, April 26.

Even though the odd-even scheme at tourist attractions is not enforced, later visitor restrictions will still be applied. The goal is to prevent an increase in COVID-19 cases after the 2022 Eid holiday.

"The percentage of the number of visitors that will be limited, whether 75 percent or 50 percent, later the authority will be with the DKI provincial government. But the road to tourism is no longer a gage," he explained.

As for the traffic flow scheme to the summit, Bogor, Sambodo said it would be situational. This means that the flow will be diverted if there has been a traffic jam.

"Then the road to Puncak, we will see if the queue reaches Jakarta or not, or as was viral yesterday, the one that goes to Jakarta when returning from Puncak will be split in half via JORR and through Cawang," said Sambodo.

Previously, the Polda Metro Jaya decided that the odd-even (Gage) policy on 13 road sections in Jakarta would not apply during the 2022 Eid holiday. The decision was based on the results of coordination with the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub).

"Gage is not valid during the Eid holiday period from April 29 to May 8," said Sambodo.

This gage scheme was originally valid in the morning and evening, to be exact at 06.00 WIB until 10.00 WIB in the morning. Then night or afternoon from 16.00 pm to 21.00 pm.
