Not Making Profit, DPRD Urges DKI Provincial Government To Sell Shares Of PT JIExpo And PT Cemani Toka

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD asked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to sell the ownership of PT Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran. In this case, the DKI Provincial Government has a stake in the company with the exhibition service business sector of around 13 percent.

In addition, the DKI Jakarta DPRD also asked the DKI Provincial Government to release PT Cemani Toka's shares, which are currently owned by 26.85 percent.

This recommendation is included in one of the results of the discussion of the DKI Jakarta DPRD on the 2021 Governor's Accountability Report (LKPJ).

The chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, assessed that the two joint venture companies did not provide benefits to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. In addition, this company has never been present at the invitation to the DKI DPRD meeting.

"Regarding the ownership of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's Shares in a Joint Venture Company that does not provide benefits to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD through the Chair of the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD recommends to the Governor to sell shares owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to several Joint Venture Companies such as PT Cemani Toka. and PT Jakarta Internasional Expo Kemayoran, who never attended the meeting to fulfill the invitation to the Jakarta DPRD Working Meeting," Prasetyo was quoted as saying in the document resulting from the LKPJ discussion, Tuesday, April 26.

In addition, the DKI DPRD also asked the DKI Provincial Government to release other joint venture companies that do not contribute to the APBD.

"With a record, the funds (sales of shares) are used to finance program activities that provide direct benefits for residents of the capital city of Jakarta," said Prasetyo.

The recommendations of the DKI DPRD LKPJ have been discussed in each commission according to their field of duty and are finalized in DPRD Budgetary Board meetings (Banggar) and joint leadership meetings (rapimgab), together with all commission leaders, executives and the regional government budget team (TAPD).
