MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman Will Visit KPK Regarding Allegations Of Money Laundering Regent Banjarnegara Budhi Sarwono

JAKARTA - Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman plans to visit the Red and White House of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, Tuesday, April 26. He is ready to be questioned as a witness in the alleged laundering case that ensnared the inactive Banjarnegara Regent Budhi Sarwono.

"My plan is to go to the KPK around 11 am today," said Boyamin in his short message to reporters, Tuesday, April 26.

Boyamin was actually summoned as a witness by the KPK on Monday, April 25 yesterday. However, he did not attend because he felt he had not received a summons from the investigator.

However, Boyamin's statement was later denied by the Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri. Ali said the summons had been sent last week.

"The team sent the summons last week, Thursday, April 21, 2022," Ali said in a written statement to reporters, Monday, April 25.

For his absence, KPK investigators will recall Boyamin. He is expected to attend because he is suspected of knowing what Budhi Sarwono did.

Previously, the KPK named Budhi Sarwono as a suspect in the crime of money laundering (TPPU). The decision was made after investigators developed a bribery case at the PUPR Service and the gratification that ensnared him some time ago.

In this case, Budi is alleged to have hidden his wealth from the two corruption crimes and converted it into assets in the form of movable or immovable property. In addition, the KPK has confiscated assets worth Rp. 10 billion.
