Confess To Gembrong Market Fire Victim: His Son's New Clothes For Lebaran Burned Out

JAKARTA - Siti Suryani (28), a resident of the Pasar Gembrong area, East Jakarta, laments her fate, which is only left in pain. The reason is, his property and house only leaves ashes and coals.

Moreover, Siti's sadness was unstoppable when she saw her 7-year-old child complaining about the new clothes for Eid which had burned without residue. Siti's tears were unstoppable when she told the story of the fire.

"My children are crying, some are complaining. 'I just bought new clothes, it's already on fire, Mom,' it's sad. We have bought them, the clothes are placed in the closet," said the mother of two children with teary eyes, when met VOI, Monday 25 April.

Siti said the new clothes for the Eid moment were a gift for her child who had been strong enough to undergo fasting even though he was still a child.

"Class 1 Elementary School (SD)," he said.

In her daily life, Siti does not have a permanent job. He was just an ice merchant whose results were unpredictable.

Siti said, seconds later the fire started to appear in her house area.

"It happened around 20.30 WIB. I was outside, opening with my family. So the fire had spread everywhere. I couldn't save anything. I couldn't get into the house anymore," he said.

Now, Siti is forced to live in a refugee tent built on the side of Jalan Basuki Rahmat, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta.

Siti complained that all her valuables were also burned. For him, there was nothing left to save.

"Everything was burned. He even said that if all that was left was one set of clothes, which is now only glued to his body," he said.

While living in the refugee camp, Situ complained about the lack of stock of baby and toddler equipment.

"It's not all, it's like the needs of this child haven't yet. Like eggplant oil, powder. I just bought Pampers myself," he said.
