DIY Police Deploy 3,775 Joint Personnel To Secure 2022 Eid Homecoming

YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta Special Region Police (DIY) will deploy 3,775 joint personnel to secure the homecoming and return flows for Eid 2022.

"It consists of 1,932 Polri personnel and 1,843 from related agencies," said Yogyakarta Police Chief Inspector General Asep Suhendar at the Kepatihan complex, Yogyakarta, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 25.

According to Asep, Korem 072 Pamungkas Yogyakarta has also prepared 3,000 "on call" personnel at the Koramil, including the Kodim and the Battalion.

Thousands of joint officers, he said, will participate in securing the routes to various tourist sites which are likely to be crowded with tourists driving motorized vehicles.

"To smooth traffic, we have prepared monitoring posts and security posts that aim to provide services for security, safety and order," he said.

According to Asep, alternative routes have been prepared to reduce congestion from existing routes.

"We will do all alternatives, the concept may also be one way, there may also be temporary closures and openings and so on. We have drafted and we will see in the field, hopefully there will be no problems," he said.

There are six alternative routes in and out of DIY that are prepared in addition to securing the existing four border gates to break down traffic congestion and reduce the level of violations and accidents on the highway.

"We hope that this will reduce the density a little, which according to our survey, will bring about 3.9 million people to Yogya," said Asep.
