Bogor Regent Issues SE Ban On ASN Accepting Eid Gratification

BOGOR - Bogor Regent Ade Yasin issued a Circular (SE) regarding the prohibition for state civil servants (ASN) within the Bogor Regency Government, West Java, to receive the 2022 Eid gratification.

The SE Bogor Regent Number 700/547-Inspectorate stipulates that every ASN, leadership, and BUMD employee are prohibited from requesting, giving, and receiving gratuities related to their position or authority related to Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah or the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Such actions can create a conflict of interest, conflict with regulations or the code of ethics, and carry the risk of criminal sanctions," said Ade Yasin, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 25.

ASN in the Bogor Regency Government are also prohibited from taking advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic or Eid as an opportunity to carry out corrupt actions.

The Bogor Regent explained that the ban was based on the provisions of Article 12 B and Article 12 C of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

"Requesting funds or gifts as THR (holiday allowance) is a prohibited act and can have implications for criminal acts of corruption," he stressed.

The celebration of religious holidays or other big days is a tradition to increase religiosity, establish friendship, and share with each other, especially to those in need.

"The celebration should not be carried out excessively which causes an increase in unneeded expenditure, is sensitive to social environmental conditions, and complies with applicable laws and regulations," said Ade Yasin.
