Avoid AC Outdoor Theft, Police Urge Shop Owners To Install CCTV Before Leaving Home

LAMPUNG - The Lampung Regional Police appealed to shop and office owners to install CCTV cameras while they were leaving for their hometowns.

The CCTV installation is intended to be able to anticipate the actions of the perpetrators of the outdoor AC theft.

"We know that there is a lot of loss of outdoor air conditioners. We are worried that the perpetrators will take advantage of the people who are going home to take the outdoor air conditioner in front. Therefore, the installation of CCTV is to anticipate theft and if necessary, security is installed on the outdoor air conditioner," said the Kapolda Lampung, Inspector General of Police Hendro Sugiatno, citing Antara, Saturday, April 24.

He continued, in addition, the Lampung Police also asked the security guards and night guards to be even more vigilant at the theft-prone hours, especially at night.

The public and night officers are expected to be able to report to the nearest police station in each area if they see a suspected person or an outdoor AC theft has occurred.

"Officers at the police stations are on standby for 24 hours. Officers will immediately respond if there are reports," he said.

Pandra also appealed to the people of Lampung to contact the call center 110 for free if they saw an incident of a crime.

"Not only seeing incidents of crime, if you see someone who is suspicious, they should immediately report it either through the call center 110 or to the nearest police officer," he said.
