Jambi Police Revealed The Syndicate Of Breaking The Protected Applications

JAMBI - The Sub-Directorate V Cyber Team of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the Jambi Police has succeeded in uncovering a syndicate network of fictitious vaccine data makers in the PeduliLindung application.

The Director of Special Crimes and Investigation of the Jambi Police, Kombes Pol Christian Tory, in Jambi, Sunday, April 24, said that the falsification of vaccine data involved inter-provincial actors, such as residents from Jambi, East Java, West Java, Batam, North Sumatra and Jakarta.

"So far, we have arrested seven perpetrators from a number of areas such as Magetan and Bandung, including Jambi and will continue to develop the case that was first successfully revealed by the police in Indonesia against an application officially used by the government," he said.

The team managed to reveal it after information was developed and finally the modus operandi of the perpetrators was to use social media for advertisements and offers to make vaccine certificates and recorded in the PeduliLindung application.

Christian also said that the perpetrators set a fee for the manufacture of the vaccine certificate starting from Rp. 600 thousand to Rp. 1.5 million.

The perpetrators previously knew each other and had joined a group of friends.

In carrying out their actions, these syndicates offer to produce vaccine certificates in which the results are recorded directly into the PeduliLindung application without injecting them.

They take advantage of people who have comorbidities, then offer assistance with information on being able to directly access the PeduliLindung application and the Ministry of Health website to get an official vaccine card, with a process that only takes one day for all of Indonesia.

"Currently the perpetrators are at the Jambi Regional Police and for further information and development of this case, we will report back later and the Jambi Police are still investigating the case," said Pol Kombes Christian Tory.
