TANGERANG - School Coordinator for Inclusive Education Provider (SPPI), Sri Palupi Handayani said that her party would conduct a screening test for 47 schools in Tangerang City on 12 May. To find out if their children are indicated to be dyslexic.

He added that in conducting the screening test, his party collaborated with Dyslexia Genius Malaysia to handle the children with dyslexia.

"After Eid, a Screening Test will be conducted at SDN Karawaci 5 (Tangerang City). Later, it will continue to other schools," Sri said when contacted by Voi.id, Saturday, April 23.

"For the initial screening. Later, if dyslexia is indicated, then an assessment test will be carried out," he continued.

In her opportunity, Sri explained how the characteristics of people who suffer from dyslexia are. They generally have a learning disorder characterized by difficulty reading, writing, or spelling.

When there are people with indications of dyslexia, they will be separated from regular students. Later, he will be given a curriculum by the lecturer from Dyslexia Genius Malaysia.

“Because we think children are stupid, can't read, can't write, but it turns out that grades 1-3 because they really have a disorder are dyslexia, and a program should be held. Maybe because we are not diagnosed with dyslexia, so our treatment is not quite right. So that these dyslexic children can be able to have an IQ that is above average," he said.

Regarding the teaching process, Sri admitted that she did not know more about dyslexia. Because later, those who will teach will come from Dyslexia Genius Malaysia.

"I don't know how to teach it, I just helped to collect data on the dyslexia screening test," he said.
