"I feel proud that we have been able to can and preserve MSME products, starting from gudeg, rawon, empal gentong, all of them. So the people's products with soup can actually be preserved and last a long time," said the vice president as quoted by Antara.
According to the Vice President, the ability to package MSME products in durable cans will support the progress of national MSME businesses. He continued to encourage similar research and innovations to be developed, because Indonesia is rich in food raw materials that can be produced from upstream to downstream.

The Vice President said that BRIN's halal research laboratory was a great progress, amid Indonesia's aspiration to become the world's largest halal producing country by 2024, as stated by President Joko Widodo.
During a review activity at the BRIN Center for Research and Technology and Food Processing, the Vice President received information about research on substitution of imported products, where research conducted by BRIN is able to find substitute raw materials so that non-halal products can become halal.
"So there are forms of ingredients that are starting to be produced, such as gelatin which is usually derived from pork, now it can be made from seaweed and also other ingredients to replace non-halal into halal, including taste," he explained.
