Hunted For 4 Months, 2 Thieves In Semarang Shot By Police

SEMARANG - Police shot two robbers in the legs in Semarang City, Central Java, wanted after the action 4 months ago.

Semarang Deputy Chief of Police AKBP IGA Dwi Perbawa said the two robbers confiscated a woman's motorbike and bag in December 2021.

The two suspects have the initials DSP (21) residents of Mlatibaru, East Semarang and TAH (27) residents of Krobokan, West Semarang. According to the Wakapolrestabes, the perpetrator used a sharp weapon to frighten the victim.

"The two of them were circling on a motorbike to look for victims," said AKBP Dwi Perbawa as reported by Antara, Friday, April 22.

Police who received the victim's report after the incident, he said, continued to investigate until they found the whereabouts of the suspect.

"The second one turned out to be a parking attendant at Pasar Johar Semarang," he said.

Strict action was taken by officers, he continued, because the suspect tried to run away when he was about to be arrested. For their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code regarding theft.
