PASER - Population administration services at the Department of Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil) of Paser Regency, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), have been temporarily suspended.

Secretary of Disdukcapil Paser Sudirman said that the cause of the discontinuation of services was due to a faulty network server.

"Services are temporarily suspended while waiting for repairs to be completed," Sudirman said in Tanah Grogot, Paser, quoted from Antara, Friday, April 22.

He said the damage to the network server was caused by being struck by lightning due to heavy rain accompanied by lightning on Wednesday afternoon, April 20.

Sudirman is not sure when the population administration service will reopen because it is still waiting for the repairs to be completed.

"The technical team from the local Encryption Statistics Information Communications Service is still working to repair the damage to the server," he said.

He explained that there are two network servers at the Disdukcapil Office, namely a network server belonging to the Paser Regency Government managed by the Kominfo Service and the other network server connected to the Directorate General of Dukcapil, Ministry of Home Affairs.

"So the two servers are currently experiencing damage due to being struck by lightning," he said.

Sudirman added that although the service at the counter was closed, there were still services from Disdukcapil employees to residents. On average, the residents served are those who take the completed files.

“Those who are served are those whose files have been completed. As for the initial service, waiting for the network server to return to normal," he concluded.
