BIAK - Head of the Biak Regency PKK Mobilization Team, Numfor Ruth Naomi Rumkabu hopes that the spirit of RA Kartini is imitated by native Papuan women.

He invited indigenous Papuan women not to feel inferior and to continue to innovate in providing services in various work professions.

"The spirit of the ideals of the female hero RA Kartini is expected to be an inspiration for Papuan women," said Ruth Naomi on the sidelines of the 2022 Kartini Day commemoration at the Biak Youth Square, Papua, quoted from Antara, Thursday, April 20.

He invited Papuan women to be at the forefront in helping the government prevent stunting in Biak Numfor Regency.

The role of mothers in the family, according to Ruth, is very big to pay attention to the health of the child's body and development so that it is free from stunting.

"On Kartini Day this year, I hope that Papuan women can do their best to support the government's program to prevent stunting," he said.

Meanwhile, Biak Regent Herry Ario Naap said that behind the success of regional officials or leaders of regional apparatus organizations was the figure of a woman/wife.

"The celebration of Kartini Day is expected to further increase the spirit of Papuan women to continue to maintain their identity within the family, national community and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

RA Kartini's struggle in promoting the emancipation of Indonesian women, according to Herry Naap, can be followed by Papuan women.

"The Biak Numfor Regency Government continues to provide opportunities for women to work in the government bureaucracy," he said.

The highlight of Kartini Day on April 21, 2022 in Biak Numfor Regency was enlivened by the Wor Kodim 1708/Biak Dance and Nusantara Dance from the Indonesian Air Force's wife organization PIA Ardhiya Garini and the "launching" of the traditional identity of Biak Asis women by the Chairperson of the PKK, Ruth Naomi Rumkabu.
