JAKARTA - The chairman of the DPR's Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP), Fadli Zon, said that BKSAP will visit Palestine in May 2022 in order to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Palestine.

The BKSAP visit to Palestine is also in order to strengthen Indonesia's commitment to support Palestinian independence and condemn Israeli aggression.

"BKSAP has a Bilateral Cooperation Group (GKSB) Indonesia and Palestine, the plan is from May to go to Palestine, there are three alternative visits, namely to the Gaza Strip, Ramallah, and Amman, Jordan where there is a Palestinian Council," said Fadli at the Indonesian Parliament Building, Jakarta, Thursday, April 21, quoted from Antara.

The development of the Gaza Strip, said Fadli, has just occurred an Israeli attack so that due to the security situation that does not allow it, it is rather difficult to visit the area.

Therefore, he said, it is very likely that BKSAP will visit Ramallah or Amman, Jordan.

"Indonesia's relationship with Palestine is a special relationship because from each government, we always support Palestinian independence. The chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives has also said that the Indonesian parliament is very committed to supporting an independent Palestine," he said.

Fadli said that Indonesia condemns and condemns Israel's aggression against Palestine, especially in the current Ramadan situation which attacks the Al Aqsa Mosque compound.

According to him, Israel always provokes attacks, even hitting and shooting Palestinians who want to pray at the Masjidilaksa.

"They even gave space for Jewish extremist groups to enter the Masjidilaksa. This provoked means to carry out an intolerant act," he said.
