SEKADAU - Sekadau Resort Police, West Kalimantan (Kalbar) revealed a criminal act of misuse of subsidized diesel fuel (BBM). One person with the initials Z (25) was arrested and made a suspect.

"Currently, the status of Z has been raised from perpetrator to suspect and we are continuing to make developments in exploring the case," said Sekadau Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Anuar Syarifuddin in a written statement at Sekadau, Antara, Thursday, April 21.

The suspect was arrested because he was caught transporting and carrying diesel fuel without being equipped with valid documents. Based on the perpetrator's information, subsidized diesel was purchased for Rp. 9,000 thousand per liter and the plan is to resell it to other regions or regencies.

"The price per liter is Rp. 11,000," said Anuar.

He added that from the suspect's hands, the police managed to confiscate 995 liters of diesel fuel which were stored in 70 liter and 35 liter jerry cans.

"We will continue to try to prevent shortages caused by individuals who misappropriate subsidized fuel, and include law enforcement as a last resort," he said.

Previously, the Head of the West Kalimantan Police, Inspector General Suryanbodo Asmoro, appealed to the public if they saw violations related to subsidized diesel fuel to report them to law enforcement officials.

"If there is accurate information regarding violations of BBM in West Kalimantan, it can be reported to the local police for immediate action," he said.
