YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta City Government (Pemkot) prohibits the use of official official cars and operational vehicles for Lebaran 2022 homecoming.

"The rules are in place. From year to year there have been these rules. No need to explain anymore. I'm sure all officials understand it," said Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 20.

He believes that there will be no officials within the Yogyakarta City Government who will violate these provisions for various reasons, such as not knowing the rules.

“The hallmark of an official is to understand the rules. So don't break the rules. Official cars are not allowed to go home, let alone to be used for family transportation," he said.

He reminded all heads of regional apparatus organizations (OPD) and work units that have consequences and must be responsible if there is damage to the official car.

"So, if you happen to have an accident while using an official car for Eid 2022, repairs are the responsibility of the OPD head. The consequences are like that," he said.

In order to accommodate this prohibition, the Yogyakarta City Government has prepared vehicle storage located in each work unit or regional apparatus organization.

The safekeeping was opened to accommodate the need for official car storage because the Eid 2022 holiday is quite long, which is around two weeks.

Haryadi asked all OPD heads and work units within the Yogyakarta City Government including the sub-district and village heads to report the results of the official vehicle inventory a maximum of D-7 Eid 2022.

“This report is part of the effort to organize and inventory state-owned vehicles within the Yogyakarta City Government. All existing vehicles must be reported, both two-wheeled, three-wheeled if any, and four-wheeled," he said.
