JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has made a breakthrough by handling cases of alleged cooking oil corruption and naming the suspect the Director General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade (Dirjen Daglu of the Ministry of Trade) Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana.
Deputy Chairperson of the Gelora Party, Fahri Hamzah, assessed that there was no difference in investigating cases of alleged corruption by the AGO or the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). For him, the most important thing is law enforcement, not who the institution is.
"The mafia and corruptors who were arrested by @KPK_RI and @the Indonesian Attorney General's Office are the same," Fahri said on his Twitter account, @Fahrihamzah, Wednesday, April 20.
Fahri considered it unfair if the KPK received more appreciation than other law enforcement agencies. Whereas the KPK and other law enforcement agencies both contribute to the state by apprehending the perpetrators of corruption.
"So if the KPK is arrested, it will be extraordinary, but if it is caught by other law enforcers, it will be considered a cemen," he said.
Although the KPK has recently been highlighted not because of its performance but because of the case that ensnared its leadership, Fahri still sees no need to compare the professionalism of fellow law enforcers.
"Come on, who used to fight each other now, we encourage law enforcement to cooperate... Lizard and Crocodile will be together!" said Fahri.
The AGO is known to be investigating cases of alleged corruption in the provision of export facilities for crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivative products at the Ministry of Trade. Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana has been named a suspect in this case.
Meanwhile, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has recently been involved in an alleged gratification case. KPK Deputy Chairman Lili Pintauli Siregar is suspected of receiving gratuities in the form of accommodation, hotels, and tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP.
Previously, Lili was also dealing with alleged violations of the code of ethics until it was reported to the KPK Supervisory Board (Dewas). Lili was reported by KPK investigator Novel Baswedan on Tuesday, June 8 last year.
Lili Pintauli Siregar was reported because of the inactive communication with the defendant, the Mayor of Tanjungbalai City, M. Syahrial in the investigation of the case of buying and selling positions at the Tanjungbalai City Government.
