Palangkaraya Police Establishes Idul Fitri Homecoming Security Post

PALANGKARAYA - Head of the Traffic Unit of the Palangka Raya Police, Central Kalimantan, Kompol Feriza Lubis said his party had set up security posts at a number of points in the local area, to anticipate accidents during homecoming and Eid this year.

"The Eid security post will later be guarded by a number of related agencies, with the aim that travelers are always reminded to be careful when driving their vehicles," said Feriza in Palangkaraya, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, April 20.

The Eid post is planned to be spread to four points, first on Jalan Tjilik Riwut Km 38, the second on Jalan Yos Sudarso or the police post, the third on Jalan Mahir Mahar in the direction of Kalampangan Village and the fourth on the Trans Kalimantan Road, Pahandut Seberang District which connects Gunung Mas Regency.

He said, of the four security posts for Eid, three were on the Trans Kalimantan route, such as Jalan Tjilik Riwut, Mahir Mahar and Trans Kalimantan in Pahandut Seberang Village.

"We have also spread banners related to traffic warnings at a number of points, so that motorists obey traffic rules while on the highway," he said.

The first jasmine police officer also informed all travelers not to drive their vehicles when entering the city of Palangka Raya. Because many travelers did not know the characteristics and conditions of the road at that time, one of the most dangerous was the Jalan Tjilik Riwut section.

"Black spots or black dots that often occur in traffic accidents, namely on the Tjilik Riwut road from kilometers 4-10 because the road conditions are narrow and wide, thus endangering motorists when they do not know the terrain," he said. He also reminded and asked the public when they wanted to travel far, it would be better to check the condition of the vehicle first. This is also one of the anticipations of traffic accidents, so that motorists can use vehicles on the highway safely and without any obstacles.

"Including the health of people who drive vehicles for long trips, really in a fit condition so they don't get influenced by alcohol and drugs, so that they can endanger the lives of others and themselves," said Feriza.
