JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded officials and civil servants to refuse giving gratuities in the form of money to parcels and other gifts related to their positions. This warning was delivered to welcome the momentum of Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijriyah.

Acting KPK Spokesperson for Prevention Ipi Maryati asked institutional leaders, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), and Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) to issue internal warnings so that this warning could be implemented.

"KPK also urges KLPD and BUMN/D leaders to give internal appeals to civil servants in their work environment to refuse gratuities in the form of money, gifts or parcels, facilities, and other forms of gifts related to positions and contrary to their obligations and duties," he said. Ipi in his written statement, Wednesday, April 20.

If officials and civil servants cannot refuse, then reporting must be done. Reports on receipt of gratuities to the KPK, continued Ipi, can be done up to 30 working days after the gratuity is received.

Information regarding the mechanism and reporting forms for receiving gratuities can be accessed via the link https://gratuity.kpk.go.id or contacting the KPK public information service at telephone number 198.

Meanwhile, for receiving gratuities in the form of food that is easily damaged or expired, it can be distributed as social assistance to orphanages, nursing homes, and those in need. However, reporting to each official or civil servant agency must still be carried out accompanied by submission documentation.

"Furthermore, the agency will report the recapitulation of the receipt to the KPK," said BTA.

Furthermore, the Corruption Eradication Commission also reminded state officials that they are prohibited from asking for funds, donations and gifts as holiday allowances (THR) from the public, companies, or other state officials, either orally or in writing.

"Because (this, ed) can have implications for criminal acts of corruption," concluded Ipi.
