JAKARTA - The government has issued a new policy regarding the conditions for going home for children. This was decided in a limited cabinet meeting on 18 April 2022.

The provisions are contained in the Addendum to Circular Letter Number 16 of 2022 concerning Provisions for Travel of Domestic People during the COVID-19 Pandemic Period.

In the addendum, the Head of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19, Suharyanto, stated that domestic travelers aged 6 to 17 are not required to carry out PCR or antigen tests.

With a note, the child has received the second dose of vaccination or the complete dose. Meanwhile, children under the age of 6 follow their companions. This was confirmed by the spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito.

"Especially children aged 6-17 years can be free from mandatory testing if they have been vaccinated with a second dose, while for children under 6 years of age there is no testing policy provided that the travel companion has met the travel requirements according to the provisions," said Wiku in a virtual press conference, Tuesday, April 19.

Meanwhile, the general public is allowed to go home without including the results of the COVID-19 test if it has been boosted. Then, people who have been vaccinated twice must show negative antigen test results taken 1x24 hours or PCR taken 3x24 hours before departure. For those who have just been vaccinated once, they must show a negative PCR test result 3X24 hours before departure.

In addition, those who cannot be vaccinated due to certain health conditions or comorbidities, must show a negative PCR test result taken 3 x 24 hours before departure as well as an official certificate from the hospital.

Wiku emphasized that this provision applies to all modes, including air, sea, land transportation using private or public vehicles, crossing transportation, and long-distance trains.

"It should be noted that the completeness of this file will be checked at the departure point and at several points during the trip. For this reason, the public is obliged to download the PeduliLindung application and make domestic e-HAC as one of the features in it," he added.
