KUDUS - The Trade Office of Kudus Regency, Central Java stated that hundreds of traders at Pasar Kliwon Kudus still have arrears in paying the retribution for the use of regional assets (PKD) or kiosk rentals with a total of IDR 3 billion.

"The value of the arrears has been reduced because previously it could have reached Rp 7 billion. We ask that after Lebaran the traders immediately pay it off because their sales turnover is currently also increasing," said Head of the Kudus Trade Office Sudiharti, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 18.

He admitted that he had tried to collect the merchants who were in arrears, starting with letters, threats of revocation of basic permits to sticking stickers that read "not yet paid the PKD levy".

After Lebaran 2022, he said, his team would be deployed to collect the arrears.

Meanwhile, the Head of Market Management Division of the Kudus Trade Office, Albertus Harys Yunanto, added that the value of arrears from each trader varied because previously there were tens of millions following their long arrears.

Traders who are in arrears, some argue that they don't have money and some hold on to the right to build (HGB) until 2021, even though their status expires in 2016.

However, the kiosk rental was effectively withdrawn in 2018 after the traders signed the rental agreement.

In Pasar Kliwon Kudus there are 36 shop houses, 863 kiosks and 1,356 stalls with a total number of traders reaching 2,500 traders. The rental rate for kiosks and shop houses per square meter is IDR 500 per square meter per day, while the stalls are IDR 250 per square meter per day.
