South Sumatra Police Reveals 35 Drug Cases Over A Week, 46 Suspects Arrested

SUMSEL - A total of 35 drug cases were uncovered by the Narcotics Investigation Directorate Team (Ditresnarkoba) of the South Sumatra Police (Sumsel) during the third week of April 2022. From the disclosure, 46 suspects were arrested.

The suspects include two of them as drug producers, 43 dealers, and one user, said the Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol. Supriadi, in Palembang, Monday, April 18.

Continuing the Antara report, the evidence seized from the suspects were 177.78 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 24.5 ecstasy pills, and 1,030 grams of powder or pill fragments.

The success of the South Sumatra Police personnel and their ranks in uncovering dozens of cases and securing the suspects along with quite a lot of drug evidence, was able to save 5,115 children of the nation from the misuse of these prohibited items.

Seeing the high weekly case disclosures, according to the order of the South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Toni Harmanto, all of his members were asked to work harder to suppress drug trafficking in the province with 17 regencies or cities.

Police officers in South Sumatra were ordered to continue to work hard to eradicate drug trafficking and abuse, as well as ensure that the younger generation is safe from the snares of these illicit goods.
