JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police is still hunting for the three perpetrators of blocking the ATM. The hunt was carried out after one of the perpetrators was arrested in the Cengkareng area.

"Currently, one perpetrator has been arrested. Three others are still being sought," said Cengkareng Police Chief, Kompol Ardhie Demastyo when contacted, Monday, April 18.

The police chief explained that the ATM machine burglary occurred on Friday, April 8, last. At the time of the incident, there were four known perpetrators and they each had their respective duties in the action. Two people were on duty guarding the car and the other two were breaking into an ATM machine.

According to Kompol Ardhie, the perpetrators snatched Rp1 million in cash from the ATM machine by using a screwdriver.

Initially, the perpetrator pretended to take money from the ATM machine like a normal visitor.

"He pretended to take money using his own ATM card. Then he broke into by jamming the machine with a screwdriver. Then he took the money," he said.

When the two perpetrators were breaking into the machine, several people around were suspicious.

"When the perpetrator was in the ATM area, the witnesses became suspicious and approached the perpetrator. When approached, the perpetrator immediately tried to run away, but one perpetrator was caught," he said.

Currently, the police have not received a report from the Brilink ATM machine operator for the loss of this amount of money.

"There are no reports yet," he said.
