JAKARTA – The video of a child being stabbed in the neck by his mother during sahur in the East Jakarta area. The short video circulated on a number of social media platforms and sparked the anger of netizens.

It is said that the incident of stabbing the child's neck by the mother occurred on Jalan Sawo, Lubang Buaya Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta, Friday April 15, at around 03.30 WIB.

The East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) when receiving a report began to check the location of the case (TKP).

From the results of the examination, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Police AKBP Ahsanul Muqqafi explained that the information on the child's neck being stabbed by the viral parent was declared a hoax.

"It's a hoax," said AKBP Ahsanul Muqqafi to reporters, Monday, April 18.

Ahsanul explained that the viral incident began when Y, a biological mother, was preparing to eat sahur with her son, who had the initials MS (15), a 2nd grade SMK student. The incident occurred on Friday April 15 at around 03.30 WIB.

"Y cut the rice cake with a small knife and accidentally hit MS, who was nearby at the time, bleeding," he said.

Y panicked and immediately went out to ask the neighbors for help. However, when he left the house and MS was going to be taken to the Pondok Gede Hajj Hospital, there were residents who took videos and it went viral with false news.

"The video says 'child wakes up sahur, mother slits throat'. After being treated by the hospital, MS only suffered minor injuries and was given wound medicine and went straight home," he said.

According to Kasat, MS has also provided a clarification video on his TikTok account that the viral news is not true or a hoax.

"So it was confirmed that it was a hoax video," said Kasat.

Meanwhile, MS has also made a clarification video on his TikTok account.

"I'm not being slashed. For +62 netizens, please think about it using logic, if I'm slashed, it's impossible for me to live," said MS in a video on his TikTok account.
