JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said the younger generation must be rich in ideas and smart to read the momentum when the time is right to implement them.
This was conveyed by Moeldoko during the KSP audience with the DPP of the Indonesian National Student Movement (GMNI).
"The young generation should not revolve around the same issues. You have to have the courage to step up with big ideas and be observant at reading when the momentum is right to make it happen. If you meet the right people, the results will be extraordinary," he said in a press statement, Thursday, April 14.
Moeldoko gave an example of the big thoughts of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the realization of the development and relocation of the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago. The development of IKN, he said, is a manifestation of transformation in all aspects, not just building and physically moving the government center from DKI Jakarta to East Kalimantan.
"The construction and relocation of the new capital city is a big idea, Mr. President, and now is the right moment to make it happen. It is not easy and of course there are many risks," said Moeldoko.
"I hope that this kind of great thinking can be followed by the current generation," he continued.
GMNI held an audience with KSP to discuss several agendas, including the Rapimnas GMNI on July 27, 2022 with the theme "The Spirit of the Archipelago Towards Advanced Indonesia".
The IKN Nusantara, which was exemplified by Moeldoko as a major development carried out by President Jokowi, covers a land area of approximately 256,142 hectares and an area of marine waters covering an area of approximately 68,189 hectares located in North Penajam Paser and Kutai Kartanegara regencies in East Kalimantan province.
In the IKN Master Plan, it is stated that IKN development will occur in 5 stages, namely in phase I in 2022-2024 for urban development, basic infrastructure development, and economic development as well as relocation of the TNI, Polri and BIN; Phase II in 2024-2029 with the target that primary and secondary public transportation facilities are ready for use.
Phase III is in 2030-2034 with the target of completing a mass public transportation system, wastewater treatment plant (IPAL), drinking water treatment plant (IPAM), city support facilities, waste processing, adding digital and urban amenities.
Phase IV in 2035-2039 begins with the development of the education and health sectors as well as the completion of the construction of regional railways and multi-purpose dams and stage 5 in 2040-2045 which is marked by sustainable industrial development and stable population growth.
The government estimates that the total budget requirement for IKN will reach Rp. 466 trillion, which will be met through the State Budget of Rp. 89.4 trillion, Rp. 253.4 trillion from government and business entity cooperation (KPBU) and Rp. 123.2 trillion from the private sector.
