KSP Encourages Consolidation Of Ministries/Agencies And Local Governments To Resolve Land Problems At IKN

JAKARTA - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) encourages ministries/agencies (K/L) and local governments to consolidate to form a clearing house mechanism to resolve land and forestry issues in the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago, East Kalimantan.

Deputy II of the Presidential Chief of Staff, Abetnego Tarigan, in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday, April 14, said that this clearing house is needed so that the government's response to land and forest issues in IKN can be fast and synchronized.

"The concern of KSP is how to respond to the social dynamics of the community, the process of mapping movement, sorting, quickly and synchronously. Currently efforts to manage land issues and forest areas in IKN are managed by the respective K/L involved. So there needs to be a consolidation," he said.

Clearing house is a forum to resolve problems in policy making, by involving stakeholders and other parties as needed.

This was conveyed by him in a coordination meeting on the management of land, forestry and communication strategy settlement schemes in the IKN area which was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of National Development Planning, National Development Planning Agency, Provincial Government. East Kalimantan, Hadi Mulyadi, and the North Penajam Paser Regency Government.

Abetnego said that currently the data components and mapping results of land issues in the IKN area are managed by the Ministry of ATR/BPN, the Ministry of LHK and local governments separately, which has the potential to cause discrepancies between the data.

"KSP hopes that K/L at the central level can be in sync with the local government and can be precise in responding to the community regarding land and forestry issues in the IKN area," he said.

KSP also encourages relevant Ministries/Agencies to maximize communication strategies and approaches to the public by utilizing complaint channels.

"What the public has caught from the Governor's Circular and the central government regulations is that the government will evicte the people. This needs to be straightened out with synchronized and integrated public communication," said Acting Regent of North Penajam Paser, Hamdan Pongrewa, who was present at the coordination meeting.

In addition, he also hopes that the integration of IKN regulations will soon be implemented so that local governments can respond to the situation on the ground and provide accurate information to the public.
