Sampang Police Prevent Misappropriation Of 17 Tons Of Subsidized Fertilizer

SAMPANG - Sampang Police thwarted an attempt to misappropriate subsidized fertilizer for distribution in Sampang Regency to other areas outside Madura Island, East Java.

According to the Sampang Police Chief, AKBP Arman, the disclosure of the misuse of subsidized fertilizer distribution was on Tuesday (12/4) at around 20.30 WIB on Jalan Raya Banyuates, Sampang.

"The Sampang Police's success in uncovering the misuse of subsidized fertilizer for distribution in Sampang Regency began with information submitted by the public to the Sampang Police Headquarters," he said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 13.

At that time, said the Police Chief, his party received a short message sent to the public complaint center number stating that there was an attempt to divert subsidized fertilizer from Sampang to outside Madura.

The officer then dispatched a team to the location in question as stated in the short message.

"The results turned out to be true," said the Chief of Police.

At that time, the police found two trucks carrying hundreds of sacks of subsidized fertilizer. The trucks are numbered A-8775-YX and D-8953-UA, respectively.

The truck with license plate number A belongs to an electronic component supplier company in Balaraja Regency, Banten.

Meanwhile, the number D truck vehicle is a producer of bottled drinking water from Padalarang District, West Bandung Regency, West Java.

"This truck sends goods to Sampang, then from Sampang brings this subsidized fertilizer," he said.

The police chief said that the 17 tons of subsidized fertilizer in the two trucks included 180 sacks of ZA fertilizer and 160 sacks of Nitrogen Phosphate Potassium (NPK)/Phonska fertilizer.

Now the evidence in the form of two trucks and 17 tons of subsidized fertilizer was confiscated at the Sampang Police Headquarters for further investigation.

The police also arrested three people as truck drivers and assistants, each with the initials MS (51), a resident of Gilin Laok Hamlet, East Ketapang Village, Ketapang District, Sampang, and MP (29), a resident of Gujing Hamlet, Ketapang Laok Village, Ketapang District. . Sampang, and HD (21), a resident of Gujing Hamlet, Ketapang Laok Village, Ketapang District.

"From this illegal practice the motives of the suspects are to take advantage of the subsidy price according to the highest retail price (HET)," said Police Chief AKBP Arman.

The Sampang Police, he said, will further investigate the driving actors in the case of the misuse of subsidized fertilizers from Sampang Regency outside the area.

"This is a new driver's admission. However, we are still investigating who will be involved later," he said.

Meanwhile, based on ANTARA's records, this case of misuse of subsidized fertilizer in Sampang Regency outside Madura Island is the second case.

The first case occurred in February 2022. At that time 9 tons of subsidized fertilizer for distribution areas in Pamekasan Regency were diverted to Tuban Regency by unscrupulous residents. The Tuban police have arrested the driver and the truck, while the fertilizer owner has not yet been caught.
