DENPASAR - The Denpasar City Government, Bali has accelerated the handling and smooth processing of waste at the Suwung Final Disposal Site (TPA), South Denpasar District, ahead of the G20 Presidency.

Denpasar City Regional Secretary Ida Bagus Alit Wiradana said that his party will continue to monitor and supervise the existence of the Suwung TPA, because in the near future the place is planned to no longer accept garbage shipments.

"The Suwung TPA prior to international activities no longer accepts consignments of waste. Therefore, at this time, waste must be processed as well as possible so that it will be clean in time," he said, Tuesday, April 12.

This review is to find out the current conditions at the Suwung TPA. Previously, his party had asked for an explanation related to the condition of heavy equipment that usually operates at the Suwung TPA, which is still being repaired due to damage. Hopefully it can be resolved soon and garbage transportation can return to normal.

Regional Secretary Alit Widana further said that under these conditions, his party will continue to monitor the movement and accelerate the repair of heavy equipment and waste management at the Suwung TPA.

"We also hope that all people in Denpasar City can support the government's program on accelerating the handling of waste processing by helping sort out organic and non-organic waste from their respective homes and manage it at 3R TPS," said Alit Wiradana.

Separately, the Head of Tegal Kertha Village, Putu Trisna Jaya, said that the condition of the temporary disposal sites (TPS) in his area that had piled up had now begun to be transported.

"We are monitoring that the garbage that previously piled up has begun to be transported by Denpasar City DLHK officers by deploying heavy equipment. Hopefully all the garbage in the Jalan Merpati Monang Maning TPS can be transported so that it doesn't spill onto the road," said Trisna Jaya.
