27.9 Million People In Indonesia Have Been Vaccinated With Boosters

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) noted that 27,960,917 people had received the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine after an increase of 669,139 people.

According to data from the Task Force, the number of people who received the complete dose increased by 227,644 people, bringing the total to 161,761,633 people.

Meanwhile, 197,660,336 people had received the first dose after increasing to 119,894 people.

The task force stated that the number of people targeted by the government's COVID-19 vaccination reached 208,265,720.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, emphasized that to protect the public from the transmission of COVID-19 in the midst of homecoming activities, her party had ensured that the number of vaccines available was adequate.

"What we want to make sure is that the Ministry of Health ensures the availability of vaccines. So even if there are areas that may be running low, we can assure you that we will immediately refill and distribute them," Nadia said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 12.

He also said the benefits of booster vaccination are not only to protect travelers when they are on the road, but also to gather with their families upon arrival at their destination.

To ensure that all family members can go home and participate in Lebaran comfortably, Nadia appealed to the entire community to immediately carry out booster vaccinations.

This is because booster vaccines cannot guarantee 100 percent protection from COVID-19. Each party must continue to balance it with the discipline of health protocols.

"Don't get in the middle of the road feeling the side effects of fever, nausea, it's not very good. Even though we want to have fun when going home with family," he said.
