JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman confirmed that Serda Fredrik Lumowa's son, who was born with conjoined twins, immediately underwent a separation operation in Manado, North Sulawesi. The separation operation was assisted by doctors from the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Jakarta.

Dudung visits the twins Joana and Jovalin on the sidelines of a working visit to the Military Command XIII/Merdeka Headquarters in Manado, North Sulawesi, Monday, April 11. Dudung said the two daughters of Serda Fredrik Lumowa would undergo separation surgery on April 21, 2022.

"We all pray that they will always be given health, safety, and the operations that will be carried out will run safely and smoothly," said the Army Chief of Staff to Serda Fredrik as quoted from a written broadcast by the Indonesian Army Information Service received in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday night.

Serda Fredrik is an Army soldier who serves at Kodim 1302/Minahasa. To the parents of twins Joana and Jovalin, Dudung said he had ordered the Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) to send specialist doctors to help with the separation operation which took place at Prof. RSUP. Kandou Malalayang, Manado.

So far, specialist doctors from Gatot Subroto Hospital have established intense communication with doctors from Prof. RSUP. Kandou Malalayang discussed the condition of Serda Fredrik's two daughters.

“Initially, (Joana and Jovalin) would be taken to the RSPAD. However, because they have been treated here since childhood, the doctors here understand more about the condition, and the hospital here is able to carry out the operation," said Dudung, who took the time to interact with the twins.

During the meeting, Sergeant Fredrik and his wife, Marcela Amelia Sumakul, expressed their gratitude for the attention and assistance of the Army Chief of Staff to their two daughters, Joana and Jovalin, who are currently 2 years and 3 months old.

"Our family is very touched. Thank you, Mr. Army Chief of Staff and Mrs. for coming to see our daughter. This is an extraordinary thing for us as a family, and a prayer for the safety and health of our children," said Fredrik.
